CTT: The Power of Partnerships- Strength in Community
By Will Brogan

Success in the fleet and commercial industry isn’t built in isolation—it’s forged through collaboration, shared knowledge, and strong relationships. Whether you’re a dealership leader, a salesperson, an upfitter, or a tech provider, the reality is clear: we are stronger together.
Over the years, we’ve seen first-hand how partnerships drive innovation, improve customer experiences, and open doors to opportunities that no one could achieve alone, yours truly included, as Commercial Truck Training’s acquisition by One Nexus has set our efforts on a trajectory that was only previously possible in pipedreams. So, as we view the impact of our industry partnerships, one thing stands out—the value of a trusted community working toward a common goal.
A Shared Mission
Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside an incredible group of industry partners—from those who have hosted, presented, or sponsored our Ultimate Boot Camps to the professionals who have shared their expertise. Every collaboration reinforces the importance of relationships in this industry.
As things evolve in 2025, we are excited about what’s to come. The connections each of us build and the new opportunities on the horizon remind us all just how fortunate we are to work with people we trust, respect, and genuinely enjoy being around.
This side of the industry, for as long as I have been in it, has always been about establishing and enhancing relationships. If that changes, we’ll be at the forefront of training the change, but I’m not holding my breath!
For those in sales, the importance of industry partnerships cannot be overstated. If you haven’t yet built strong relationships with key players in your market, now is the time. Surround yourself with professionals who bring new insights, complementary skills, and a shared commitment to success. Events like the NTEA Work Truck Show last month are ideal for efforts like that!
Leveraging Collective Strength
One of the most exciting aspects of this industry is its ingenuity. Creativity isn’t just about innovation—it’s about recognizing the strengths of others and integrating them into a shared vision for success.
Upfitters design solutions that make work trucks safer, more functional, and better suited to real-world applications.
Sales professionals develop creative ways to build trust—whether it’s through a personalized approach, a thoughtful follow-up, or even something as simple as a well-placed candy dish at a reception desk.
Technology partners continue to refine and expand the tools that help dealerships connect with customers, manage inventory, and streamline processes.
We don’t have to do it all alone—we just have to know who to call. The best professionals in this industry aren’t just experts in their own space; they’re connectors who understand that success is a shared effort.
And if you ever need a reminder that opportunity is everywhere, just take a moment to observe the vehicles at a local gas station tomorrow morning. You’ll likely see a dozen-plus upfitted work trucks in a single parking lot—each one representing a business that needs the right solutions, tools, and people to help them operate efficiently. That’s why we do what we do.
A Community That Lasts
I love that this industry is built on genuine connections. Our industry thrives on that. Many of you laugh at the running joke that “We all got into fleet and commercial by accident, and when we left, we found our way back.” But there’s truth in it. People stay in this business because they find a community that feels like home.
Publications like this one and various industry associations help us stay connected, push each other to improve, and work toward a stronger, more collaborative future for fleet and commercial. It’s not just about individual success—it’s about ensuring the entire industry thrives.
For me, personally, I’m grateful to have found my way back to this community once again.
Lifelong Learners, Lifelong Success
One of the most rewarding parts of leading the trainings we conduct is seeing how different dealerships and teams tackle challenges. Every organization has a unique approach, but the most successful ones have one thing in common: a commitment to learning and adapting.
Some of my favorite conversations happen when someone reaches out and says,
“That one thing from training—that’s what really helped me.”
That’s why we end our newsletters with some version of a simple yet powerful statement:
“We’re here to help.”
Because, at the end of the day, our purpose is to equip you with the knowledge, tools, and connections you need to succeed. It helps you, and the greater community of commercial and fleet.
If you’ve made it this far, I’d say you’re exactly the kind of avid learner who makes this industry what it is. And for that, I thank you.
