Ford Motor Co. selected Precision Vehicle Solutions to manage finished vehicle logistics at its Kentucky Truck Plant and Louisville Assembly Plant, handing the provider responsibility for one of the automaker’s highest-volume outbound networks.
The award expands Precision’s role within Ford’s U.S. manufacturing system and places the logistics provider at Kentucky Truck Plant, Ford’s largest manufacturing facility in the United States and one of its most complex globally. The site produces more than 460,000 trucks and SUVs annually and operates with a high job-per-hour rate and multiple outbound flows.
Precision will oversee finished vehicle movements, yard operations and outbound logistics coordination at both plants. At Kentucky Truck Plant, the company will manage the entire rail-and-shuttle network, which accounts for roughly 93% of outbound vehicle volume and serves about 65 destinations across North America.
That work includes direct loading of vehicles onto railcars and shuttle transfers to regional railheads, reflecting the operational demands of the site and its role in Ford’s distribution network.
