VMAC Introduces 12/24V Battery Booster for Service Trucks

VMAC has introduced a 12/24V battery booster designed to give mobile technicians onboard boosting capability for commercial vehicles, construction equipment and heavy machinery.

The VMAC 12/24V Battery Booster integrates into service trucks and vans, providing an alternative to carrying a separate portable booster. It supports both voltage systems, helping technicians respond to different equipment requirements throughout the workday.

VMAC Battery Booster Features

According to VMAC, the system includes:

  • Both 12V and 24V battery boosting capability
  • 12V charging functionality
  • Independent booster batteries isolated from the service vehicle chassis during boosting
  • A listed system weight of 31.6 pounds
  • Included heavy-duty booster cables with alligator clamps, available in 10-foot or 30-foot lengths

The unit measures 17.75 inches long, 16.6 inches wide and 7.5 inches high. It is designed for installation inside a weatherproof cabinet.

Installation and Equipment Requirements

VMAC’s product specifications list two separate 8D-series booster batteries, each rated at a minimum of 1,500 cold-cranking amps. Batteries, installation wiring and required fusing are not included.

The service vehicle’s charging system maintains the booster batteries between uses, while the batteries remain isolated from the chassis during boosting. Upfitters should review the complete installation requirements when planning cabinet space, equipment weight and cable routing.

Expanding Mobile Service Capability

The booster gives service fleets another option for incorporating field-support equipment directly into a truck. For operations maintaining a mix of 12V and 24V equipment, that means one installed system can address a wider range of battery-related service calls.

Battery support is one part of a broader service-truck specification process. CVBN’s coverage of Summit Truck Bodies’ hydraulic crane lineup explores another equipment decision affecting service-body and chassis selection.

Additional specifications and installation information are available on the VMAC 12/24V Battery Booster product page.
