Ford Pro Advantage Launches Certified Pre-Owned Program for Class 1-7 Work Trucks

Ford Pro Advantage brings manufacturer-backed inspections, warranties, roadside assistance, and service support to used Class 1-7 commercial trucks and vans.

Ford Pro is expanding into certified pre-owned commercial vehicles with a new program covering Class 1-7 trucks and vans, including chassis cabs, cutaways, and incomplete vehicles.

The Ford Pro Advantage program launched nationwide October 5, 2026, through more than 700 Ford Pro Commercial Vehicle Centers. Ford says the program is designed to give businesses another option for acquiring work-ready vehicles at a lower cost than buying new, while adding inspections, warranty coverage, roadside assistance, and service support.

For fleet operators weighing new versus used vehicles, the program also brings some of the support traditionally associated with new commercial vehicles into the used market.

The launch comes as the used work truck and van market continues to give businesses a cost-conscious alternative to purchasing new inventory.

Two Certification Levels for Used Commercial Vehicles

Ford Pro Advantage will offer two certification tiers, with eligibility extending as high as the F-750 on the Ford side and including qualifying non-Ford commercial vehicles.

  • Ford Pro Gold Certified covers eligible Ford commercial vehicles, including Transit vans through F-750 trucks, that are under five years old and have fewer than 80,000 miles. Vehicles receive a 172-point inspection and come with a seven-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
  • Ford Pro Blue Certified expands eligibility to Ford and non-Ford commercial vehicles up to nine years old and 150,000 miles. These vehicles receive a 139-point inspection and a 90-day comprehensive warranty.

Both certification levels include 24/7 commercial roadside assistance and a money-back guarantee.

Ford Pro said its sourcing strategy will focus particularly on high-demand commercial vehicles that are approximately two to three years old with 30,000 to 70,000 miles.

That inventory is expected to include Class 1-7 commercial trucks and vans as well as chassis cabs and cutaways.

Used Trucks Backed by Commercial Service Network

Beyond the vehicle inspection and warranty, Ford is tying Ford Pro Advantage purchases into its broader commercial service network. Customers will have access to more than 4,300 Ford Mobile Service vans for eligible routine maintenance and light repairs, along with more than 700 Ford Pro Commercial Vehicle Centers and nearly 100 Pro Elite Service Centers.

Commercial financing will also be available through Ford Pro FinSimple, including commercial financing lines, flexible lease structures, and bundled invoicing.

Matt Atkenson, executive director of Ford Pro North America Sales & Operations, said the company developed the program after working with Commercial Vehicle Center dealers, customers, and rental fleet partners.

“For an independent contractor, an electrician, or a local plumber, a work vehicle isn’t a luxury. It’s how the business runs,”

Atkenson wrote in announcing the program.

He said Ford Pro Advantage is intended to reduce some of the uncertainty businesses can face when purchasing a used commercial vehicle by combining pre-owned inventory with inspections, warranties, and access to Ford Pro services.

“Buying a used work vehicle doesn’t mean you’re on your own,”

Atkenson said.

Another Acquisition Option for Work Truck Fleets

The timing could make the program particularly relevant for businesses trying to manage acquisition costs without keeping older vehicles in service indefinitely.

Atkenson pointed to rising fuel costs, inflation, and other economic pressures on businesses as factors behind the launch.

“In this environment of rising fuel costs, inflation, and economic conditions that challenge profitability, every dollar and every decision count,” he said.

For work truck fleets, Ford Pro Advantage creates another potential acquisition path between purchasing a new commercial vehicle and sourcing a conventional used truck or van without manufacturer-backed certification.

Ford Pro Advantage launched nationwide October 5 through participating Ford Pro Commercial Vehicle Centers.

Why Ford Pro Advantage Matters for Commercial Buyers

For a small business or fleet operator, buying used can reduce the initial vehicle cost, but maintenance history, downtime and unexpected repairs can complicate the decision. As CVB Network’s review of Q2 2026 work truck market data explains, the right choice depends on factors such as operating radius, payload, vehicle age, application and budget.

Ford Pro Advantage gives commercial buyers another option between purchasing new and selecting a conventional used vehicle. The program covers Class 1-7 commercial trucks and vans and offers Gold and Blue certification tiers, inspections of up to 172 points, warranty coverage, 24/7 commercial roadside assistance and access to Ford Pro’s commercial service network.

The program complements Ford Pro’s expanded fleet powertrain warranty for smaller work trucks and vans, another initiative designed to make operating costs more predictable.

Businesses looking for a particular body, upfit or vehicle configuration can also learn about Ford Pro’s commercial vehicle locator for road- and work-ready trucks and vans. Together, these resources can help buyers compare certified used inventory with new-vehicle alternatives based on application, availability and total cost of ownership.
