(CVBN: Chico, CA) — Streetline has deployed its AI-powered Truck Parking Information Management System (TPIMS) along Interstate 5 in Washington state to provide real-time and predictive parking availability. Working with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), this system aims to improve safety, reduce illegal, unsafe, and shoulder parking for commercial drivers along the busy freight corridor.
Key Details of the I-5 Project:
Technology: Uses AI-enabled cameras, sensors, and machine learning to monitor, calculate, and share parking occupancy in real-time at public rest areas and weigh stations.
Information Access: Drivers can access data through the ParkerTruck app, in-cab systems, a 511-traveler information system, and digital highway signs.
Goal: To help drivers better plan their stops, comply with hours-of-service (HOS) regulations, and enhance safety by reducing the need to park on highway off-ramps.
Scope: This expansion builds upon similar, recent TPAS deployment by Streetline on I-10 in California and Arizona.
