Morgan Olson has launched its Longest Working Step Van Challenge, inviting qualifying FedEx Independent Service Providers to identify the oldest Morgan Olson or Grumman step van still actively delivering packages.
The verified winner will receive a new Morgan Olson step van body. The company plans to feature the campaign at the 2026 FedEx Forward Service Provider Summit in Orlando, Florida.

Who Can Enter the Step Van Challenge?
The challenge is open to Independent Service Providers contracted by FedEx that operate a qualifying Morgan Olson or legacy Grumman Olson step van.
Entrants will be asked to provide:
- Vehicle information
- Current photographs of the step van
- Verification that the vehicle remains in active commercial delivery service
Qualifying vehicles may be featured in customer stories, fleet milestones and a Longest Working Step Van Challenge leaderboard.
Entries will be accepted through December 31, 2026. Participants should review Morgan Olson’s complete eligibility requirements, prize details and official rules before entering.
Highlighting Step Van Durability
Morgan Olson developed the campaign around its “Delivering Certainty” brand promise, using vehicles still operating in the field to demonstrate step van durability and long-term value.
Joe Thompson, Morgan Olson’s chief operating officer, said the campaign recognizes the customers and vehicles that continue demonstrating the company’s durability in real-world delivery operations—sometimes decades after the vehicles were built.
For fleets, extended vehicle service can illustrate the importance of body construction, maintenance practices and matching equipment to the demands of a route. Vehicles that remain productive over long periods may also provide useful insight into lifecycle costs and replacement planning.
Morgan Olson’s Continuing Step Van Development
The campaign focuses on the company’s longest-serving vehicles, but Morgan Olson is also developing its next generation of delivery equipment.
CVBNetwork previously covered the company’s work with EAVX and Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. on the next-generation Proxima step van, which was designed to support internal-combustion and electric chassis platforms.
The broader step van market is also continuing to evolve. Recent developments include the Workhorse W56 becoming eligible for an $85,000 California incentive for qualifying fleet purchases.
Independent Service Providers that believe they operate one of North America’s longest-working Morgan Olson or Grumman step vans can find additional company information at MorganOlson.com.
